who

The BridgeBuilders 50+ Ministry is Bridgeway’s Ministry to those who are 50 years of age and older.  BridgeBuilders encourages everyone in our Church to get involved in God’s glorious plan to build up His church. We value an intergenerational approach to church life, seeking to encourage all to join in the many opportunities to study, worship, serve, and fellowship with all age groups and ministries, so that the whole body of Christ might grow in spiritual maturity.

REAL LIFE

Cancer left them distraught and lonely, but BridgeBuilders filled the gap.

In May 2010, empty nesters George and Kathleen Titus received devastating news: Kathleen had Stage 4 cancer. Launched immediately into a whirlwind of treatments, doctor visits, and uncertainties—what they remember as their “darkest hour”—the couple felt more isolated than ever. They had been attending Bridgeway for two years, but had not connected with anyone.

In a desperate attempt to reach out, George and Kathleen asked Lance for help: “What can we do?”

At Lance’s suggestion, they called Glen Cardaronella, a leader of the BridgeBuilders 50+ ministry. Glen’s already full small group squeezed the Tituses in and became an instant support system, praying Kathleen through months of grueling cancer treatment.

Now completely healed of her cancer and active members of the ministry themselves, Kathleen says she and George would not have made it through without BridgeBuilders. They have since made it their mission to share with others the love, support, and fellowship that was shown to them and would love to tell you more about their story.
