Christian Leaders in the Marketplace
Overview: Many Christian leaders in the marketplace have compartmentalized their faith, are afraid to let their light shine, or don’t know how to integrate their faith and vocation. The focus of this class is to encourage Christian leaders to integrate their faith and vocation in the marketplace and, thereby, transform their effectiveness. This interactive course will be enhanced by the experiences of class participants and contemporary Christian leaders across the U.S. The following topics will be covered:
• Integrating faith and vocation…Does it mean I have to be a Bible-Thumper at work?
• What are the disciplines of a Christian leader?
• What might it look like to be a Christian team leader?
• What’s your leadership legacy?
Who should take this class: Anyone wanting to better understand how to integrate their faith and vocation in the marketplace to be more effective leaders for Christ.
Homework Expectations: Some light outside reading and self-reflection.
Required Materials/Costs: There is no cost for this class but please register in advance online.
About the Instructor: Dr. Merle Switzer has a passion for helping leaders be more effective. He works as a leadership trainer, coach, and consultant. He is currently writing a book on Christian leaders in the marketplace.

Relational Disciplemaking – Living Out the Great Commission
Overview: Jesus commanded his followers to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Mt. 28:19). Paul told Timothy “the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who are also qualified to teach others” (2 Tim. 2:2). The command is extremely clear: go build into reliable folks who will reproduce themselves in others so that the great message of Jesus Christ will be passed on from generation to generation. However, on a practical level, not many Christians are actually living out the great commission and making disciples through the natural relationships they already have. We like the idea of disciplemaking, but are either intimidated, not prepared, or simply do not know how to begin. In this eight week class, you will be given the resources and practical tools to come alongside a seeking non-believer and/or a new Christian and teach them how to grow in their relationship with God. You will solidify the foundations of the Christian faith for yourself and learn how to teach these truths to others in the context of a natural one-on-one relationship and/or small group environment. At the end of this course, you will not only be prepared to disciple someone else, but strongly encouraged to do so!
Where: Bridgeway Christian Church in the Hub
Who should take this class: Anyone looking to learn how to disciple others and help them grow in their relationship with God.
Required Materials/Cost: Foundations Workbook—A Blueprint for Building a Relationship with God ($15). The workbooks will be available the first week of class and will discuss the following topics:
• How to begin a relationship with God
• How to grow in your relationship with God
• How to communicate with God through prayer
• How to listen to God through Bible reading and study
• How to invest the resources God has entrusted to us
• How to tell others about our relationship to God
Optional Materials/Cost: Foundations Leader’s Guide ($15)
Homework Expectations: Workbook, Bible Reading, and Scripture Memory
Expectation after the course: Live out the Great Commission by taking someone else through the Foundations Workbook!
