Ok... by the title you might think this is going to be a deeply spiritual blog about original sin and our first parents... not so much...

it's pretty much just about the season... fall.

sorry if your great hopes for spiritual depth were dashed to the ground...maybe another time.

As fall kicks off I am wondering what more we can do. Not just events for us, but what opportunities can we take to get more deeply involved in the year of world impact.  I mean I would love to think forward about a crossroads retreat (fall camping anyone?) but as we are drawing into the deep planning sessions for our New Orleans mission (dates to come next week) what can we do locally? How can we impact our local community? Here are some of my thoughts...

Crossroads adopts a teacher (or multiple teachers) from First St Elementary in Lincoln

We do a backpack drive for 1st Street Elem.(either for students in our adopted teachers classes or I'm up for the whole school)

Volunteer at the childrens wards at local hospitals (story reading etc)

Homeless outreach (alongside or gathering inn)

Habitat for Humanity

So those are a few things that we can chew on but I am open to so much more, I know God wants to use us as we make ourselves available, but we need more thoughts about what we can do... so HIT ME!!

Plus as we get into planning the N.O. Mission I need some thoughts about community outreach down there (not just a vbs type scenario... although that does good... but more)

The year is not over yet and there is more impact to be made.
