Mormonism – Understanding Beliefs and Building Bridges

Mormonism – Understanding Beliefs and Building Bridges is a three week class designed to help you understand Mormon history and beliefs, know the differences between Mormon and Christian doctrine, and learn how to build bridges to share with Mormons in a loving and respectful way.
The first class will discuss the history and fundamental beliefs of the Mormon Church. Who was Joseph Smith and how did he write the Book of Mormon? What is life like in the Mormon Church? Is this a Christian church? What is expected of faithful members? How does a person become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints?
The second class will discuss the God of the Bible and compare that with the Mormon doctrine of God; who they believe Jesus Christ to be and how he became flesh; and their belief of a pre-existence and man's progression to Godhood.
The third class will cover effective ways to rescue our loved ones and friends from this culture. And finally answer the many questions that will surely arise about such a belief.
About the Instructor: Dennis Rykert is a former Mormon and served in high levels of leadership in the Bishopric. Dennis came to faith in Christ and left the Mormon Church and has been attending Bridgeway for years now. He has a passion to reach Mormons with the truth of the Gospel and is uniquely qualified to teach this class because he knows the intricacies of Mormon beliefs and culture from first-hand experience.

Blueprints for Growth
This class is one in a series of new classes that are part of our Blueprints for Growth: a church-wide strategy for making disciples at Bridgeway. In the coming weeks, we will launch a number of classes designed to help us get better grounded in our walks with the Lord and get a better grasp of the Bible. We have assembled an array of gifted teachers who are passionate about what they are teaching. More detailed information will be available on the Bridgeway web site in the coming days. Please prayerfully consider how God would want you to participate, and join us in taking some solid steps toward spiritual growth.
