Ever feel like you lack a solid grasp on the Bible, how it's put together and what it covers? The Bible Overview Class is one in a series of classes we are launching at Bridgeway to provide us with Blueprints for Growth.

An Invitation...

Men and Women of Bridgeway, I would like to invite you to join me, Dave Doty, for a 10-12 week walk through the Bible—a brief but challenging, unconventional overview, if you will.

Let me ask you a question: When was the last time you read the book of Nahum? Amos? Philemon? Hezekiah? Just kidding...there is no book of Hezekiah, but he was a King of Judah, the southern kingdom. The answer for most is "never." This has always made me wonder why. My experience is that most have not read these and many other biblical books, mainly because they do not see the need or realize the importance or value in the larger scheme of things.

The whole Bible is meant to be read and understood, but most of us get lost in the details, stories and events. We simply do not know how the events flow, what their significance is, and why we should spend our time reading about them. Let's face it, most of us really don't know the Bible that well. We have never been led through the timelines, events, and characters at a high, survey-type level; therefore, we have not seen how the books and key elements of God's revealed Word relate to the bigger picture.

If this is you, and you are tired of being lost in Scripture and missing parts of God's Word to you, then this is the class for you. We will spend several weeks together going over the layout of the Bible, and you will be challenged to learn in a fun and bite-sized manner. Anyone can do this and we progress at a comfortable pace. Just think, by the time you complete this class, you will understand the Bible on a level that will surprise you and change your view of Scripture forever.

When: Sundays 11:15am -12:45pm – Starting March 7th 
Where: Bridgeway Christian Church, in the Annex (the youth room in our former building, Suite 560, across the parking lot behind the church)

About the Instructor: Dave Doty lives in Roseville with his wife of 24 years and their 2 teenage kids. In 2006, he graduated from seminary with an MA in Specialized Ministry (Evangelism and Equipping). Dave loves God's Word, especially studying it and teaching others. He was a pastor on staff at another church in the area for five years, managing small groups and helping others connect in community. Dave enjoys drumming for the Bridgeway Worship Team and a classic rock band, motorcycles/fast cars, golf, movies, Rottweilers, and target shooting.

Blueprints for Growth

The Bible Overview Class is one in a series of new classes that are part of our Blueprints for Growth: a church-wide strategy for making disciples at Bridgeway. In the coming weeks, we will launch a number of classes designed to help us get better grounded in our walks with the Lord and get a better grasp of the Bible. We have assembled an array of gifted teachers who are passionate about what they are teaching. Please prayerfully consider how God would want you to participate, and join us in taking some solid steps toward spiritual growth.
